We had a rare late winter senior session in the freezing cold. We spent quite a bit of time in the studio, where we had fun with a Sax and some dramatic lightening…..turns out this senior is much more suave that he thought. :) Then we braved the sub-zero temperature. One of the MANY blessings of Iowa winters. LOL. We thought we might freeze TO some metal steps…but we came away unscathed and with a few good laughs, and some great images
A slight breeze, Autumn leaves, love and a frozen wedding party… :) Turns out that is a recipe for good times, and high drama pictures. The Glamours Bride didn’t seem to mind, nor did the groomsmen in their tuxes..The bridesmaids however, they were a bit chilly. This park wedding resulted in some really nice images, and good memories, at one point we were on the ground in the grass scooting back for that “perfect shot” and wound up right in the middle of goose poop…. LOL. Thats a moment we’ll always remember….

These two darlings, were fired up and wound for sound. We’ve done shoots with them for three consecutive years now and it is simply amazing how much they’ve grown each year! This year they looked like they stepped right off the streets of Paris and infront of our camera…We had a good time chasing down this little boy, and the petite Madmoiselle…well…she had no problem posing for the camera. :) We had such a good time, and it was great to see them again…

This weekend we had the opportunity to shoot another fantastic couple. They showed up in good spirits and we’re ready to get down to business.
We got thru the boring stuff in record time and got to get outside and play. Now it was a Sunday, and I think we had some football withdrawal going on…but we managed. We took a walk in the woods and at one point came across a beautiful deer. It didn’t think we were so hot…It stared at us stomping its foot in annoyance at us
….Further into the woods we actually came across a pedestrian bridge which had fallen down and washed out…While a quite surprising find, It also provided for some really great shots as you’ll see below. Enjoy….

We had a showing in the Dubuque Bridal Affaire at the hotel Julien in downtown Dubuque. The hotel was amazing, and we met a plethora of fantastic people. We sampled a few too many of our own Petit Fours….(they’re so tempting just staring at us the whole time) however, over all it was a success, and we had a blast….a few more months and we’ll be at it again in CR at the Bridal Expo at the Cellular center…Look for us there and say hey….

Snow White….HA…This little lady is by far the fairest maiden in the land…She is probably the cutest little girl on the face of the planet….the entire time she kept asking…”can I be Snow White now?”….. of course we saved it for near last, given its was SOO exciting.
Mom and Dad will surely have their hands full when this little miss gross up….What a wonderful family! And now I can say I’ve photographed royalty

Morning weddings are becoming more and more popular again…and as a photographer I can’t complain…typically the morning sunshine graces everything with a golden glow. We do stress a little more about the groom showing up on time… ;) given its so “early”… This wasn’t the case here..the groom was at the church almost 2 hours before the bride, and in all the weddings I’ve been a part of, I never witnessed a transformation so rapid and complete…This bride with 30 mins till showtime didn’t have her make up and hair done, or dress on….with 3 bridesmaids, 2 assistants, a mom, and one photographer working to get her ready…she was ready to go with 1 minute to spare….and as you can see from the below no one would know that the stunning bride got ready in under 30 mins :)

This lovely couple tied the knot out a lake Macbride, It was a fantastic day, other than being numbingly cold. Luckily someone had a fire going in the large stone fireplace which everyone happily gathered in front of for pictures….:) The trees were much more green that we expected however they contrasted nicely with the bride’s orange dress, creating some high drama…..which we always love….

So this little boy looked adorable in his Daddy’s Army fatigues…too bad he wanted nothing to do with them
As soon as we put his dad’s cover (thats a “hat” for all of us civilians) on him he’d yank it right off….he did like the boots…but what boy wouldn’t want to play with dirty old boots!!! We then went out to the park and this little fella had a dandy of a time wooing the ladies, and trying to eat sticks and flowers…..I think we all enjoyed watching him work the crowd… :P

This Senior couldn’t stop smiling, I had to ask him to pretend he was in trouble to pull the smile off his face….even then he burst out laughing, which of course sent us into a laughing fit as well. He was building a house as part of H.S. project, so we dropped by to shoot some at the building site, my wife was none too please at me climbing up to where the roof was “supposed” to be to “get the shot” but we got it and look back and laugh now…. Enjoy….
